Starting every Monday we will be doing something that we have NEVER done before, and are so excited about. Because we have chosen to be a 100% completely independent artist, we have NO RULES! And because we have no rules, we want to give all the Purple People the most honest and real experience with SLO as ya'll can possibly have. We want you to know how extremely grateful we are for you, and how without you we would be nothing. We want you to know how good ya'll are doing at being teachers of the music, and spreading the word of empowerment, love, and equality….and that is why starting now, EVERY Monday SLO will be releasing a rough mix of a song! Whether it is just an idea of a song we did three years ago, or a full recorded song we did yesterday on Garage Band, SLO wants the Purple People to know the songwriting process of SLO and all that they have worked on, and what we are working on now. We trust you and know that you will not go around releasing this music as "Mastered High Quality" music, it is very very very "Ruff." Yet, no matter what band you are, all songs start off that way in the songwriting experience. The first Ruff Mix Monday song is titled Darth Vader. Darth Vader is a song about light vs. darkness, love vs. hate, good vs. evil, and to be weary that this world in not good nor bad, it is simply whatever reality you choose to make it. For anyone that knows a little about Star Wars, Anakin Skywalker was once the chosen prophet of light and goodness. He was chosen to protect the universe with his incredible gift of power, yet he was side tracked with the temptations of darkness. Instead of turning into the saviour of the universe, and the prophet Jedi of love, Anakin became the destroyer of the universe and the lord of Siths…Darth Vader. This song is to remind all people that you too can be a prophet of love and light, as well as a minister of darkness. The responsibility is in your decisions and the thoughts that you decide to think. Think well, act kind, and be love.
